Jesus chose ordinary men to walk with Him, observe His life, learn His heart, and to be shaped by His example and teaching. While those men weren't complete at the time of their calling, they grew into what Jesus needed them to be under His training.

Many crowded around Jesus, but only 12 were called to be apostles. Humble fishermen, a tax collector, and a zealot were some of those chosen. These men were not ready for His work yet, but Jesus would prepare them.
