Depression is a serious issue that many face at some point in their lives. For some it is debilitating and life-long. What does the Bible say about depression? What are ways we can overcome it. It is possible not only to overcome it but to thrive because of it. 

Reading the New Testament, we can easily see that God wants His church to live in unity. But unity in the Bible is not simply a decision to get along, nor is it a state of being to achieve. God has already created that kind of unity. It is up to us to maintain that, but that only comes through activity. Unity is not passive but active. When the body of Christ is working together, that is the unity God expects of His people.

If we measure people by the impact they have upon the world, Jesus stands alone. The impact this man had on the people of the earth stemmed from three years of itinerant preaching in a land full of turmoil and political unrest. But the ripples of His teaching continue after two thousand years. And there's a good reason when you consider what the Bible says about His nature.

The nature of God is mysterious, but we can understand some things. This knowledge comes both from the revelation of God's creation and the revelation of His word. The purpose of defining God is not to try to limit Him, but to try to understand His nature. Since we were made in His image, we can learn more about ourselves and our relationship to God by learning more about Him.

Love is the bond that holds us all together in Christ. How does this work though? Plenty of people feel love for others but they do not have unity. Is love merely an emotion that we create in our minds? Here is a taste of what the Bible says about how (and why) love is the supreme principle in unity.

There are many ways to look at personality. The purpose of this class is to help us understand a very broad range of personalities and how both have strengths and weaknesses that can help or hinder us in our walk with Christ and in life in general.

Taking the example of Jesus calling His first disciples, we can learn how to reach out to others to find new disciples.
